Simona Negrini, PhD

With extensive experience in scientific publishing, I have served as an Editorial Office Manager overseeing the Journal of Hepatology and Atherosclerosis, both flag journals of medical societies. In these roles, I collaborated closely with editorial and governing boards to shape the strategic direction of the journals. I managed editorial processes from submission to publication, ensuring scientific integrity and quality while overseeing day-to-day operations in partnership with production managers, publishers, and other stakeholders.

I also have a solid scientific background, holding a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences and a PhD in Molecular Biology. My research expertise is complemented by significant experience in managing and developing EU-funded programs. Notably, I was the Project Manager for the GENICA FP7 COST Programme. I further honed my skills in EU-funded projects by coordinating the RESPIRE 2 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions COFUND Programme (FP7) and working as a grant writer for H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions COFUND funding.

I also managed several national initiatives by swissuniversities. As an academic researcher, I have worked at the Universities of Bern, Lausanne, Geneva and Pavia.
